Integrity

Being at home today with this snow day has had me watching the news more than usual.  Of cousre, being a sports fan, I've had SportsCenter on most of the day (when not enjoying the Princess Bride #goandrethegiant).  But as I've watched the two main stories in sports, one word has surfaced in my mind:  integrity.
Whether an athlete, pastor, educator, parent, employee, employer, celebrity, politician, or anything else we may be or do in life, we are called by the Bible to live with integrity.
It is troubling on multiple levels to hear one person say of his situation that his battle with cancer gave him a "win at all costs" attitude.
And it is also troubling to hear from a Christian university that they may have known the whole thing was a hoax but did not make this public to protect an image.
Our government/nation is in a place where we must make some serious decisions about how much to spend and on what.  However, we have trust issues with those in charge whom we feel are mostly there for their own gain and not for the job of representing the
When I think of the word "integrity," I'm reminded of Joseph in Genesis.  He suffered for doing nothing wrong, but never once did it enter his mind to compromise his Godly values.  I pray that more of us will have a mind like Joseph to step up and do the right thing, even when its hard and even when it hurts.
