Pastor Wade Owens
Rev. Wade Owens and his wife Candace have two daughters: Caitlynn and Lainey. He is a 2009 graduate of Murray County High School, where he is currently employed as the construction teacher. Wade obtained degrees from Georgia Northwestern Technical College in Carpentry and Construction Management in 2011.
Wade grew up at First United Methodist Church of Chatsworth. In October of 2011 he submitted to the call to preach. In December of 2013 Wade and his family became members of Holly Creek Baptist Church, where he was licensed into the ministry in April of 2017. While there he served in the areas of music, youth, children, and facilities.
In December 2019, Wade was called to become the youth minister of Smyrna Baptist Church. Wade has been a vital part of the work of the church in numerous areas since his arrival, assisting with many needs as the church navigated the pandemic of 2020. In March of 2021, the church voted to ordain Wade into the gospel ministry. At Smyrna, Wade's primary role is to focus ministry to the next generation. His wife Candace is also active in multiple ministries at SBC. Wade has proven himself a very capable preacher and has a Pastor's heart for all ages.
Aside from his roles in the ministry at Smyrna, Wade is the Construction teacher at Murray County High School. He has also served as Chaplain to the MCHS Indian Baseball team.
